The Foundation for Quality Guarantee of the Veal Sector (SKV) stands for safe and responsibly produced veal. Consumers are guaranteed that quality was the primary consideration during the production and processing of this meat, and also that no forbidden growth promoters were used - either when the calf was being raised or as an additive in the cattle feed.
The Foundation for Quality Guarantee of the Veal Sector (Stichting Kwaliteitsgarantie Vleeskalversector (SKV) is an independent inspection foundation that was established in 1990 by the veal calf sector in close consultation with the government. Nearly all veal producers in the Netherlands have affiliated voluntarily to the organisation. This demonstrates just how important the sector considers giving extra quality guarantees to its customers. Some of these guarantees go beyond the legal demands imposed on veal production.
